Russian missile strikes killed five people, including a child, in the Ukrainian city of Dnipro last night. Additionally, a teenager and another person died in attacks on Kyiv and the surrounding region, officials reported on Saturday.

The strikes occurred shortly after Russia concluded a three-day summit of the BRICS group of emerging economies in Kazan. During the summit, world leaders urged President Vladimir Putin to put an end to the conflict.

"After everything that was said in Kazan, Russian murderers returned to their usual business," Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated on Saturday.

"This proves once again that aggression cannot be stopped by talking, but only by decisive actions in defense of the state," he emphasized.

The attacks on Dnipro late Friday resulted in five fatalities and significant damage to several buildings, including a hospital, according to authorities.

Governor of Dnipropetrovsk region, Sergiy Lysak, reported that more than a dozen other individuals, including children, were injured in the city.

Images shared by the governor depicted rescuers working amidst a heap of rubble, while another image showed a hospital room with blown-out windows.

In separate night attacks on Kyiv and its surrounding region, two individuals lost their lives. Among them was a teenage girl killed in a drone strike on an apartment building, as per regional authorities.

Ukrainian cities, including Kyiv, have been targeted by deadly drone and missile attacks throughout Russia's invasion.

Kyiv has been requesting additional air defense support from its allies in anticipation of a challenging winter, with Moscow escalating strikes on energy infrastructure.

On Saturday, the Russian military announced the capture of the frontline village of Oleksandropol in Ukraine's eastern Donetsk region, where it has made significant advances in recent months.
