As the mesh conference returned to Toronto this week, attendees — affectionately called "meshies" — gathered to explore the exciting intersection of design, technology, and the future of work.

With the theme "Building Our Future," this year's event delved into how leaders in architecture, engineering, construction, and commercial real estate can adapt to and improve our evolving work dynamics.

"The morning session focused on the human aspect of change, leadership strategies for managing transformation, and entrepreneurial journeys," said Chris Hogg, co-producer of the mesh conference. "The afternoon sessions explored creating new opportunities, facing challenges, and the ethical frameworks guiding teams."

The ongoing question of AI's integration into our lives was also a highlight.

Digital transformation expert Kamales Lardi opened the day by emphasizing that true digital transformation goes beyond technology.

Lardi, CEO of Lardi & Partner Consulting in Switzerland, highlighted the importance of building trust in virtual environments and creating hybrid models that prioritize autonomy and well-being for employees.
